1) How has Dr. Lo and the staff at East Bay Vision
Center helped shape your experience with Ortho-K? “Dr. Lo is very accommodating and understanding of her job as well as her patients’ circumstances. She is very sweet, which also makes the appointments that much more enjoyable. I was always able to schedule appointments with her despite our busy schedules and being out of town a lot this past year.”
2) Personally, what benefits of Ortho-K are you happiest about?
“The lenses were life changing to me in the sense that I do not have to wear glasses all the time. My mom would always point out that my glasses cause glares in pictures, so now I look great in pictures! I also like avoiding the infamous glasses tan. My eyesight might be a lot worse if I wore glasses instead of the Ortho-K lenses, so I’m really thankful for that.”
3) What was your experience like learning to use Ortho-K lenses and how would you describe your comfort with the contact lenses now? Are there challenges you had to overcome?
“My experience was great because there was so much support from Dr. Lo as well as her staff. At first, I was actually very reluctant to start using these lenses because of how difficult it seemed for my older brother to put them in his eyes. When I was transitioning from glasses to contacts, my eyes were definitely not used to something touching them, so they would involuntarily spazz everytime I inserted a contact lens. I just needed more practice and with the help of my mom and some other generous employees, I was able to put the contacts in my eyes without a problem after a few times. I was so glad that there was always someone with me every step of the way!”
